Enhance +20% and Accelerate x10 AI Research’s Impact on Industry

The NSF Proto-OKN leadership group invites industry and tech leaders to support AI research by sharing what’s needed in their domain, during a remote breakout session with the most advanced “AI Knowledge” researchers.

Domains of Interest

In this Session, you can explore an AI “Open Knowledge Network” (OKN) that makes sense for your domain of expertise.

You’ll explore this “Open Knowledge Network” (OKN) through one of the research projects, “FRINK”. At GenHax, we like to think of FRINK as “a Service to Query Them All”: a tool that services the other OKNs. FRINK is produced by Chris Bizon’s team, at RENCI, the RENaissance Computing Institute, at UNC-Chapel Hill.

  • For an hour, attendants will help Proto-OKN projects transition to markets, by co-piloting data enhancement solutions for their Knowledge Graphs. AI requires domain and business leaders to participate.

    • ABSOLUTELY NO technical experience is needed.

      • Tech experts and researchers need you.

      • You will collaborate in small teams made of researchers, Agency leaders, and Industry leaders and experts.

      • Impact guaranteed.

    • Your Challenge: 

      • Teams explore what “Knowledge” the NSF research teams have enabled in your field. 

      • Watch a demo, ask questions. 

      • Give feedback on potential usage (Accelerate transition x5)

    • Teams prioritize other problems the researchers could solve (Enhance)

      • Scan & list what existing or non-existing data sources could be leveraged.

      • Estimate how much query results enhancements would be enabled with your ideas (Goal +20%)

    • Participants list 1 or 2 researcher intros to investors, startups, or large organizations’ leaders they can make today. (Accelerate transition x10)

    Hugo Seureau and Simon Coombe at GenHax will facilitate that co-creation session, on the afternoon of Day 2: Thursday 01/16.

A new way to collaborate at the age of AI, empowering learning, training and innovation.

Goal

Co-create Proto-OKN enhancements & accelerate research.

    • Learn, analyze, explore and share ways to add relations or nodes to the proto-OKN knowledge graphs. 

    • Such data enhancement is part of the lifecycle of creating a Knowledge Graph (KG); and it increases the value of a KG. 

    • Enhancing a KG is a work intensive side of developing a useful and sustainable, that requires collaboration between domain experts and graph experts.

    With this breakout, we have the opportunity to transition proto-OKNs better, faster. 

    • Who should join? Leaders in their field or organizations. PI teams and Agencies.

    • Co-creating with who? Supporting AI Researchers with US NSF grants.

    • Co-creating for what? for current, existing proto-OKNs to enhance their data, or think of ways to leverage it across each other, so that it generates value for companies or agencies.

    • What will be done? Participants will list the gaps in data, and existing or potential sources of data. 

  • After the breakout session, what?

    • You will share and save all the solutions proposed

    • Share docs and files created or prototypes if any

    • Record 3-minute pitch

    • GenHax may offer your feedback/suggestions as challenges in future co-creation events.

    • If so, we’ll reach out to you and validate the challenge.
